Abstract
Seamless execution of QOC for the prevention of defect by hot rolled steel head mark requires accurate tip detection and tracking of material.
If coil is wound at permanent magnet and magnetism is brought near, magnetic flux changes at both tips of the coil, raising induction voltage. As induction voltage is proportional to the change of magnetic flux over time, the faster the material enters, the higher the voltage becomes. On the contrary, the slower the material enters, the less the magnitude of induction voltage.
Use
Detected signals, which are for accurate tip detection when material enters down coiler, are transferred to down coiler controlling PLC after being converted to contact point signals, and are used in the control of down coiler QOC. This equipment, which is utilized installed in the 3HRM No.2 down coiler of Gwangyang Steelworks, is an essential equipment in hot rolling process, an important equipment that should demonstrate 100% satisfactory performance.
Functions and Features
This equipment is divided broadly into two parts, sensor part which detects tip and control part which amplifier and controls signals.

Seonsor Part
|
Through special internal molding, this equipment is not affected by vibration, moisture or dust etc. |

Block
|
The equipment is a mechanical structure used to protect tip detecting sensor by supplying and circulating water for durability at high steel plate temperature 700 to 900°C. This equipment is produced so it may be easily attached and detached to and from down coiler circular guide. |

SHD Control Part
|
Control of gains and various parameters, data input and output, communication with outside PC etc. |
