Crack Analyzing System Using Magnetic Particles

Abstract

This equipment sprays magnetic particles stained with fluorescent matters onto the surface of billet, analyzes the size, type and location of crack on billet surface from the images taken with CCD camera with the use of fluorescent lamp lights shed on the surface and ensures swift and accurate grinding work by transferring to operating room and grinding room respectively.

Problems

1. While analyzing billet surface, if material is 10m long, totally 90 to 93 sheets of screen are required
2. Since alternating current(60Hz) is used, screen brightness all differs.
3. The method of using ultraviolet strobe light incurs high cost.

Composition

ImgModule
Detects billet surface defects and saves the images of detected defects
DDSCenter
Manages and adjusts the images of the defects detected from ImgModule program, and displays the information on billet surface defects on the screen.
BlemishSystem
Receives information on billet from SCC computer, and stips the information to DDS Center and ImgModule, and Griding Room.
Grinding Room
Stips information from Grinding Room to Blemish System
