Hall Sensor Array(Yoke Type AC Magnetizer and Linearly Integrated)

Abstract

Linearly integrated Hall sensor array(LIHaS) and combined induced current and magnetic flux leakage(CIC-MFL) for crack inspection is developed by Lee, et al. Distorted alternate currents(DAC) are produce around the crack tips when the current is induced on the specimen in the CIC-MFL system. The alternate MFL resulting from the DAC is detected using LIHaS. The root-mean-square(RMS) value of the MFL obtained by using high pass filters after the use of the Hall sensor is converted to the digital signal by an analog-to-digital converter(ADC), stored in a computer, and processed by interface and operation software. An algorithm for the quantitative nondestructive testing and evaluation of cracks of different shapes and sizes on the aluminum alloy, inconel, composite materials, is proposed in this research.
